Kindergarten (Co-ed) - "Bitty Ballers"
Players will get to experience basketball at a very basic level through lots of drills and games to work on fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. As the season progresses this age group may attempt some small sided games. Bitty Ballers will meet once a week throughout the season. It will begin sometime in early November and run through the end of January/end of February.
1st & 2nd Graders (Introductory Skills Based Season)
This age group will continue to work on the fundamentals of the game while starting to introduce new concepts like rebounding, spacing, etc. 1st & 2nd Graders will experience small sided games throughout the season. Groups will meet once a week from beginning November through the end of February. **In this age group, we will attempt to split boys and girls up. Depending on final registration numbers this age group may need to be co-ed. No matter, if you sign-up your son or daughter will have the opportunity to play!
Rec Basketball (3rd all the way through 12th Grade)
Players will be placed on teams that will practice once and have a game during the week (sometime M-F). There may be some weeks that a team has two games schedule during the week instead of a practice. Seasons will conclude with Rec playoffs. Games will be refereed by volunteers. The Elementary Rec season will start at the beginning of November. The Secondary Rec (middle and HS) season will start around the beginning of December. Both seasons will run until early March. Listed below are the grade groupings for the Rec program based on boys and girls.
Elementary Travel Basketball (5th & 6th Grade)
For those with interest, we offer an Elementary Travel program for a more competitive experience for boys and girls. There are tryouts prior to the season for these teams. Practices will be held 2-3 times per week. Teams will play in a local Travel league throughout the winter. There will be a slight additional cost to these teams (above general registration fee) to cover league fees, any uniforms, etc. More information about tryout dates will come out later in October. If a player does not make a travel team they will be able to play in the Rec division.
